Internal email FAQs
Each plan includes a minimum of two licenses, and you have the flexibility to add more based on your specific needs. There is no maximum limit to the total number of licenses you can buy.
If you want to upgrade your plan or add more licenses to your current subscription, you can make these changes at any time during your contract period. We’ll calculate the cost on a prorated amount until your renewal date.
ContactMonkey licenses are fully transferrable, so you have the flexibility to reassign them among your users. This means that as your team changes, with employees shifting roles or leaving, you can easily activate and assign licenses to individuals in their current roles. Your Account Manger can help you with this smooth process.
ContactMonkey accepts multiple payment methods, including credit card payments via Stripe and wire transfer.
While we don’t offer refunds, you can cancel your ContactMonkey subscription at any time by providing 30 days’ written notice to your account manager.
Our primary currency is USD, but we’re here to accommodate your preferences. You can pay in CAD, EUR, or GBP. Just keep in mind that if you opt for a currency other than USD, there’s an extra 10% fee.
Employee SMS
Each country has its own unique set of rules for messaging, so it’s essential to consult with your legal experts when diving into SMS for your internal communications.
Here are some key things to keep in mind:
Industry regulations: Some countries (especially in the U.S.) have specific restrictions on SMS use based on the industry you’re in. These might include areas like loans, cryptocurrency, debt collection, lead generation, cannabis, BDB, alcohol, and more. Double-check with your legal team to ensure smooth sailing for SMS compliance.
Message topics and content: Certain topics and content, such as loans, financial services, credit repair, and controlled substances can be subject to restrictions, regardless of their legal status in your state or country.
Consent requirements: Understanding the rules around opt-in and opt-out consent is vital. Make sure you’re aware of the do-not-contact list requirements as well.
To keep all comms compliant and respectful, ContactMonkey automatically includes an opt-out message at the end of every SMS you send. This little opt-out text lets your recipients decide if they want more of your SMS updates or not.
Now, here’s the deal: we can’t let you delete these opt-out consent messages. It’s all about following regulations. The great news is you can customize them so your SMS experience stays on brand.
In the U.S.:
- Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA): This federal law regulates the sending of SMS messages for marketing purposes, including text messages.
- Federal Communications Commission (FCC): The FCC enforces TCPA rules and regulations.
- State Laws: Each state in the U.S. may have additional laws and requirements related to text messaging.
- Mobile Carrier Requirements: Mobile carriers also have their own rules and requirements that must be followed.
In Canada:
- Canadian Federal and Provincial Privacy Legislation: Canada has strict privacy laws that impact the sending of text messages.
- Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL): CASL specifically regulates electronic messages, including text messages.
In Europe:
- ePrivacy Directive: This directive closely regulates the sending of text messages for direct marketing within the European Union.
- PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations): These regulations provide further guidance on electronic communications and marketing.
- Data Protection Laws: Mobile phone numbers are considered personal data in Europe, so data protection laws like the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) must be followed when handling this information.
When in doubt, talk to your legal team to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Most of the time, the answer is yes. But it depends on where you are and what you’re using these texts for.
In the U.S. : Yes, you usually need your employees’ consent, but you have flexibility regarding specific emergencies.
In Canada: The law allows employers to handle employee info without consent, as long as it’s reasonable for managing the employment relationship and your employees are in the know beforehand.
At ContactMonkey, we’re all about internal employee communications— so think team updates, announcements, and collaboration. We’re not the tool for commercial, marketing, or sales messages.
In case of emergencies, ContactMonkey can be used for important alerts related to health and safety. But to be extra safe, mix in a few communication channels to make sure your messages reach your team loud and clear.
Opted out? No worries. Even if an employee has opted out of text messages, we’ve got your back in times of crisis. Under federal law in the U.S., you can send communications for emergency purposes without needing consent. For example, if there’s an imminent danger, like an evacuation, we’re all in for helping you send out urgent messages. Be sure to cover all your bases during emergencies and reach your employees on multiple channels.
